We flew on an Emirates airline plane for 11 hours to Dubai and then another 7 hours from Dubai to London. The first flight was ok. We enjoyed some movies and slept a bit. I really like how the ceilings in the planes have lights that make it look like you are sleeping under the stars.
I loved these tiny Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi cans with Arabic writing.
Not too bad at the end of the 11 hour flight.
We didn't take pictures on the next flight. It turned out to be a rough flight with several crying babies. I asked to be placed in a book in a bag in the overhead bin so I could get some sleep. It's good to be flat sometimes!
After 18 hours, we arrived in London on Thursday evening. On Friday morning, we headed to the marathon expo so Scott could pick up his race number and timing chip. We had to take a train to get there.
This is my first marathon, but the Oliver's say the excitement is so intense. They are right, just seeing the sign as we walked into the expo made me feel tingly!
We signed a wall with encouragement for all of the runners. There will be about 36,000 runners throughout the streets of London on Sunday.
This car was so cute!
On Friday evening, we went to see the musical, Rock of Ages. I wanted a tshirt, but none of them came in Flat. The musical was so funny. The 80s had good music but too much hair!
Everyone running the London marathon is very sad about the events that happened at the Boston marathon the week before. The event organizers are handing out black ribbons and asking all of the runners to wear them in honor of the people hurt last weekend. Scott let me where his for a little while.
So far I really like London.
